Blogging for beginners

Hey guys! I get asked a ton about what worked for me when it came to starting my blog and how I grew my Instagram so figured I could make a post over it and tell you what I have found works for me.
Now granted, I am still VERY new to blogging. I have only been doing this for about 6 months. I don’t know ALL of the things there is to know about blogging but I feel like I do have a good grasp of a lot of it. Or at least what I am doing is working!
Blogging is different for everyone depending on how much time you put into it. Some people grow faster, some grow slower. It truly just depends what you put into it. For me, I work a full-time job and do this on the side, BUT when I get home every single evening, I am working on my blog. Every single free moment I have during the day, I am working on my blog. There are so many behind the scenes things that no one sees. It isn't all just posting a picture everyday, and that is what I am going to get into below.
-
For starters, Instagram Algorithm is huge. The algorithm shows you all of your stats on Instagram as far as when you followers are active the most and how your profile does day to day. The algorithm tracks everyone that you interact with and shows them that you are active with who you are following in the same way you would want your followers to be active with you. Pay close attention to your Algorithm and be sure to post at the high peak times that it tells you. That is when you will see your posts with the most interaction.
-
Consistency. I can not stress to you enough how consistency plays a huge roll in your networking. Posting every single day helps you stay present and relevant to your followers. Now, I understand life happens. There may be a day that you’re not feeling well or there is an emergency and that is OKAY! Just trying to not that happen as much as you can control, and try to not let it go for consecutive days at a time. When you go days without posting and interacting, the algorithm shows you’re not present and then your profile gets pushed to the bottom of your followers TL.
-
Step out of your comfort zone. When I started blogging the hardest thing for me to do was get on stories and talk. I felt so awkward talking to my phone and feeling like there’s no one on the other end of it, but DO IT! The algorithm (sorry I keep bringing it up but it plays such a huge part) tracks your interaction on your DM’s as well. Also, don’t be afraid to try a new style. If you like it, show it off. Your followers are following you for a reason.
-
Rewards Style. I know RS is an invitation only program but it is an awesome program to be apart of and a goal to set for yourself and reach. It allows your followers to shop easier. If you are not on RS, be sure to do frequent blog posts over your looks so that your followers will have somewhere to go to shop. Or even offer to send them links through your DM's. It is super hard to keep up with but will be worth it.
-
Connecting with other bloggers. You are not the only blogger in the world. This industry is not a competition, don't make it one. There are BILLIONS out there. Connect with bloggers and interact with them. Build friendships, comment on their pics, like their pics, do giveaways. Interact with them in the same way you want people to interact with you. It is so nice to have other blogger babes you can reach out and that understand maybe a struggle you are having.
-
Hashtags. WHAAAAT? Hashtags? Those things?! THEY WORK PEOPLE. I usually comment a paragraph of hashtags after I post my picture that is relevant to what I am posting. These reaching people that are specifically looking for something. For example; if I wanted to see how others dress business casual, I will search #businesscasual on Instagram and find all the posts relevant to that. So I encourage you to use hashtags.
-
Just be YOU! I have noticed that my casual mirror selfies in my beauty room attract more likes and comments than the ones I get completely dolled up for. People love to see bloggers that are just REAL with them. Talk about your struggles, your bad days, and even your good days. Whether your accomplishment that day is tackling "the chair" we all have collecting our laundry or completing a huge project elsewhere, SHARE IT! Someone is going to relate to you.
Anyways, I hope you guys find this section helpful on taking that leap to start your blog, or even if you feel like you’re in a rut and need some ideas. Keep pushing babes!
